Immigration law is federal, and that changes what “local” means
State law stops at the state line. Immigration law does not.
The rules that decide your case are the same in Lubbock, in Hobbs, and in Roswell. They come from Congress and from federal agencies, not from Austin or Santa Fe. A Texas-licensed immigration attorney can represent you before those agencies wherever you live.

Where your case is actually decided
Almost none of it happens in a lobby. And the answer surprises most people, so here it is with the addresses.
Your fingerprints are taken in Lubbock. The Application Support Center at 3502 Slide Road, Suite A-24, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is a suite in a shopping center, not a federal building. Twenty-four of the twenty-five counties on this page report there, about seven minutes from this office. One exception goes to El Paso instead: Eddy County, which is Carlsbad, Artesia and Loving. Worth knowing before you plan a trip.
Your interview is somewhere else, and which somewhere depends on your county.

If your case finishes abroad, it finishes at a consulate. For most families here that is Ciudad Juárez.
None of these locations are chosen by how close you live to your attorney. Jurisdiction follows your ZIP code. Not the firm’s.
So what does proximity actually buy you? A conversation in person when you want one. You are never required to be represented. Whether a firm will actually make that drive with you is a fair question to ask any office you are considering, including this one. Everything else in your case travels.

About the New Mexico side, plainly
This office is in Lubbock. There is no New Mexico office and this page is not going to imply one.
What you get instead: an attorney who can file your case, a bilingual team you can reach by phone or text, and a drive you make once or twice rather than every week. Most families in Clovis and Portales are closer to Lubbock than to Albuquerque, which is where their interview is. And if you are in Hobbs, Roswell or Carlsbad, your interview is not in Albuquerque at all. It is in El Paso. Worth knowing before you plan anything.
